Whether it’s a friend’s wedding, a weekend getaway or an impromptu family or work photo shoot, rest assure you can rely on these tips from celeb trainers and nutritionists to get you looking your best in 0-60 hours just like your favorite first ladies of music.

  1. Stay Away from Sugar, Alcohol and Soda

Drinks that have soda and seltzer contain so much carbon dioxide, which causes the fizzing we see in our glass. These bubbles enter our digestive tract and create air pockets, and can sometimes make our stomach feel distended and uncomfortable, not to mention gassy. Definitely NOT the red carpet look, or feeling, you want on a big day where comfort and ease is key.

  1. Opt out of any Salty Foods

Salt, as you know, makes you retain more water and actually leads to dehydration. Leaving you not only feeling like you’ve gained some water weight, but also suck the glow right out of your skin, leaving it less plump and radiant. Talk about total buzzkill. Instead, drink plenty of water so you can flush out your system and the excess sodium with it.

  1. Get your Beauty Sleep

Literally. Sleep an additional 30 minutes to an hour as many days as you have prior to the event. It will make you appear less tired, and actually refresh you enough to make better food choices in the small amount time you have.

  1. Get a Quickie.

Workout, that is. Make sure to schedule in a quick set of squats, sit ups and pushups the morning of your event. Bodybuilders are notorious for this technique before competitions because it adds definition to muscle. Do three sets of 12 of each exercise to tighten your abs, butt, and legs temporarily. The quick rush of blood to these areas will make them appear and feel fitter, if only for a few hours.

  1. Work that camera, girl.

Who cares if its not Vanity Fair Pap heckling you to flash your million dollar smile? Heck, maybe its just your mom trying to take awkward family photos with a selfie stick or worse yet, her iPad. Either way, every lady should have finishing school quality posture and know how to work their best angles. Push your chin forward, hold your arms away from your body, and turn slightly sideways from the camera with one foot in front of the other. Keeping your spine rigid as if someone was holding your spine up on a metal rod and keeping your shoulders back while sucking in your belly toward your spine gives you a slimmer, more streamlined middle.
